In life, Anaris was a research assistant for the Hand and Eye of Vecna involved in a series of necromantic rituals. When he became uneasy with the nature of his work, his employers decided to be more useful as a test subject.
Anaris’ tortured spirit was tethered to his body until Kendall used her shaman powers to release him. In death, he inhabited an enchanted flask that she held in safe-keeping. He proved a useful, if silent ally.
Travelling back to Seahaven, the party were attacked by undead hounds and a wraith, the remnants of the facility where Anaris met his end. He was instrumental in defeating the wraith, and thus found his peace. Kendall keeps the flask he inhabited as a reminder.
